Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler dropped in on a bar band's set on Bourbon Street in New Orleans Thursday night just before the band played one of his biggest hits: "Walk This Way."
TMZ reports that Tyler happened to be outside Famous Door bar when a patron saw him and told the band the iconic frontman was just outside. Knowing he had to act quickly, one of the band's guitarists rushed out to find Tyler and invited him onstage.
Tyler was apparently in a good mood, so he obliged, singing the first verse and chorus with the cover band before handing the mic back to the singer, taking a bow, shaking some hands and allowing one of his minders to lead him out.

Even with no warm-up, Tyler sounded great. Of course everyone in the club went bananas, including the band; the keyboard player looked stoked to snap an obligatory selfie — she even got a kiss from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer before he bid them adieu.
This is why we love live music!
It's unclear what Tyler was doing in New Orleans this week. He could have been celebrating his and Joe Perry's recent Tony Award nomination.
The Toxic Twins wrote a song for the Broadway adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon cartoon, SpongeBob SquarePants. The show was nominated for 12 Tony Awards in all, including Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre.
