Dee Snider Slams NFL for Super Bowl Halftime Choices

While many football fans might be fine with the decision to hire such eye candy as Jennifer Lopez and Shakira for the Super Bowl LIV halftime show, at least one person doesn't share their collective sentiment: Dee Snider. After hearing Thursday's news of the halftime lineup, the Twisted Sister frontman took to Twitter to throw shade at the NFL. "WTF!?," he tweeted. "Shakira and J-Lo for this year's NLF halftime show? Once again the great heavy music that rocks the stadiums week after week, game after game, is completely ignored. I guess we don't shake our ass enough!" While Snider may have a point, an NFL rep says his anger is misdirected. The league provides the Super Bowl host city -- in this case, Miami -- with a "short list" of suggested performers, but the city makes the final choices, the rep says. There's no word on whether any rock acts were included on the short list. Who would you like to see perform at the Super Bowl? Should the NFL considering hiring non-musical entertainers to increase the odds of appealing to a broader audience?
