The Foo Fighters are set to perform at the 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year gala, which is honoring Mariah Carey. The lineup also features Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless, Maggie Rogers, Billy Porter, Jennifer Hudson and more. In a statement, Carey said she's "deeply honored to have these extraordinary artists come together for this evening." The 2026 MusiCares Person of the Year gala is taking place on January 30th in Los Angeles.

Metallica Reportedly Finalizing Las Vegas Sphere Residency Deal

Metallica is reportedly close to finalizing a deal for a residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with contracts said to be 90% complete. The band's source mentioned excitement from the Sphere bosses about the potential show. Guitarist Kirk Hammett previously expressed interest in performing at the Sphere, praising its modern technology and production capabilities. In the meantime, Metallica is gearing up for two shows at Dublin's Aviva stadium in June.

Red Hot Chili Peppers producer Michael Beinhorn recently claimed that frontman Anthony Kiedis is "tone-deaf." During an AMA session, Beinhorn revealed that guitarist John Frusciante sang lead vocals on "Knock Me Down" because Kiedis is tone-deaf. The track was a tribute to the band's late guitarist, Hillel Slovak. Beinhorn also mentioned that Kiedis had a negative reaction to the final mix of the album. The band released new material in 2022 with Frusciante back in the lineup, aiming to bring something new to their music.

Rush to release Super Deluxe box set of 1984's Grace Under Pressure in March

RUSH is releasing a 40th anniversary edition of their 1984 album Grace Under Pressure on March 13th. The box sets include original album tracks, an alternate 2025 mix by Terry Brown, era-specific concert recordings, and Dolby Atmos mixes. Five configurations are available, with the Super Deluxe Edition containing a 52-page hardcover book, new illustrations, and re-imagined artwork by Hugh Syme. The release also features liner notes by Geddy Lee, the first he has written for a RUSH reissue, and includes various memorabilia such as a custom acrylic LED light-up display and a replica of the Grace Under Pressure tour book.

Rob Hirst, Midnight Oil Drummer, Dead At 70
