Pretty good weekend, despite the deluge of rain we got on Saturday!
I'll start with a video I made last week about something that happened up in Barnet VT while I was photographing this old farm house.
First, I'll say that when I'm out shooting (with a camera), I'm pretty much all business. I'm in the zone, haha- so to speak. I'm concentrating on trying to capture the moment that is happening in front of me. I'm focused.
But on this morning, in the middle of a shoot, waiting for the clouds to move and give me an opening for the sun to shine through - that's when I met Dave.
Check out the story-
It was a good lesson. And even though he thanked me profusely for taking the time to listen - trust me when I tell you, Dave- it was my pleasure.
On Friday night, our brew crew celebrated our friend Lorraine's birthday with dinner at Buckley's Burgers and Steaks in Hampton. We walk in and had reservations for 6:15p - so we go up to the hostess and she tells us we don't have reservations. And upon looking further - finds that whoever made them (not me!) made them for SUNDAY!!! I immediately bust out laughing! Classic! But here's the thing- the manager and staff talked for about 20 seconds and said "No problem. We can make it work." No fuss at all, they just swung with it and made it happen. It was impressive, and made us feel totaly welcome! And I gotta say - the food was EXCELLENT!
I had the Buttermilk Chicken and it was absolutely killer! Great food, great service, and very friendly folks! Highly recommend! AND - we met a really nice couple -Mike and Joyce! Nice to meet you both!
Saturday we spent in our sweats, chilling watching movies and shows because of the rain - and it was awesome.
We finally finished the new Steve Carrel series on HBO - "Rooster"
And along with Apple tv's "Shrinking" - Rooster is the funniest show on television right now!
Here's another video I made last week about a weekend morning at Nubble Light. It's a place that always has people there, even at sunrise. But on this day - when all the weather apps predicted a shitty morning, I was the only person there. And when the sky blossomed- it was incredible.
I don't believe in coincidences anymore, so I attribute me catching those images to one simple fact: I showed up.
As in photography, as in life: You gotta show up, man. You gotta show up.
And I showed up at Wells Harbor in Maine on Sunday morning and got to add a few photos to the "keeper" folder! Check em out!
And here's a photo of my face at a kids birthday party I went to this weekend -
Look, I love kids, but kids birthday parties are for kids. <grin>
And last but not least- I WENT SURFING THIS WEEKEND!
Actually, that's a total LIE! Hahaha- BUT - i did take this photo of some guys who did!
*I figure if Kelly Brown can use pics his buddies send him pics of what they did over the weekend - and post them on HIS page- so can I!
Haha-
Have a good one-
