A Swedish cross-country skier has revealed a chilling side effect from competing in nearly sub-zero temperatures. After participating in Sunday's 20-kilometer World Cup event in Ruka, Finland, where temps dipped to five degrees Fahrenheit, Calle Halfvarsson says he had to take shelter after his “man parts” froze during the race.
What’s worse, this isn’t the first time the unfortunate frostbite has made headlines. At the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, Finland’s Remi Leindholm also suffered the same horror at the end of the 50km mass start race. So, what does it feel like? According to Halfvarsson, it is simply “the worst thing you can experience.”
