As of today, IV Waste will take charge of garbage and recycling services for most of New Orleans.
The company will pick up the trash and recyclables for about 90 percent of the city.
Operations started early morning today, and crews will start collecting the waste in Mid-City and Treme. Other parts of the city will receive service the rest of the week.
Trash pick-up days will only be on weekdays, with no service on weekends.
