(Polk County, IA) -- It's Spring Cleanup time across the Des Moines area. Altoona is first, April 8th and 9th on regular garbage pick-up days. Other cities' cleanup days are scattered throughout this month andnext. The Metro Waste Authority has a list of what can be set out at the curb and what's not accepted.
