S Dilemma: How Often Should I Check In With My Wife While On A Guys Trip?

Today's 98.3 TRY Social Dilemma came from Caleb and it's about going on vacation with friends, leaving his wife at home. Here's his email: Hi Jaime. I’m going on my first guys’ trip as a married man, and I’m in a quandary about what I should do with my wife’s request. I'm 41 years old, and I've never been in this position before. I’m not sure if my wife will just miss me, or if she just doesn’t trust me, but she’s telling me she wants me to check in with her while I’m gone "often." I don’t know what “often” means, but it sounds ominous. What’s the appropriate amount of check-in time with the wife when you’re on a guys’ trip for a week? Thanks for the help ~ Caleb. I think checking in once a day is appropriate. It's what I do when I go away. Or more if I feel like it, but definitely once a day at least. It's not about trust, it's about missing your spouse, wanting to hear that they're having a good time. And the spouse that's away making sure all is good at home. So I think once a day is good, but more often if you feel like it. What do you think? Let's help Caleb out and let me know on the TRY Facebook page.
