FEMA says Nebraskans have one week left to apply for FEMA Disaster Assistance.

The deadline is July 15th.

Those residents in Douglas and Washington Counties affected by severe storms and tornadoes between April 25th through April 27th are eligible.

You can:

§ Visit DisasterAssistance.gov

§ Call FEMA directly at 800-621-FEMA (3362)

§ Download and use the FEMA app

§ Anyone using a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, can give FEMA the number for that service.

Also, a disaster recovery center opens Monday in Pottawattamie County.

FEMA says it’ll open the center on North Sixteenth Street in Council Bluffs, in the Charles Lakin Human Services Campus - North Parking Lot.

FEMA says funding will be available for homeowners in some counties affected by storms between May 20th and May 31st.

It’ll be open from one p.m. until six p.m. Monday, and from eight a.m. until six p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
