IN BLANKSTARE NEWS: Want to get your ex back?

Basically, it’s ghosting your ex to make them miss you and want you back. The idea is to cut off all communication – no texts, calls, or social media stalking.

Social media is hyping something called the “no contact” rule. Basically, it’s ghosting your ex to make them miss you and want you back. The idea is to cut off all communication – no texts, calls, or social media stalking. But experts say if you’re doing it just to get you ex back, you’re missing the point. “No contact” isn’t for them – it’s for you. It’s to give yourself space to heal, focus on yourself, and move on.

"I don’t recommend going 'no contact' as a strategy to win an ex back, as it can keep someone hopeful and in denial, rather than focusing on healing and moving forward," says dating coach Amy Chan, and author of Breakup Bootcamp: The Science of Rewiring Your Heart. "However, if no contact is implemented, it’s possible that the ex might start to miss the relationship and experience a sense of withdrawal due to the absence of dopamine, oxytocin and other feel-good chemicals that the relationship once provided." So do it for yourself – and if it gets your ex to rethink things and you still want them back, then that’s a bonus.
