Following the resignation of NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban 710 WOR’s Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning spoke with former NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton about what the future holds for the department.
“It’s a mess and it doesn’t seem like it’s going to get cleared up anytime soon,” Bratton told Berman and Riedel.
Despite the sudden change at the top however, Bratton is confident in the department being able to continue serving the city. “The 55,000 men and women of the department will continue to try and keep this city safe despite the uncertainty of leadership,” added Bratton.
Tom Donlon will be tasked with stepping in to the Commissioner’s role on an interim basis and Bratton wishes him luck. “I hope Mr. Donlon can get his arms around this incredibly complex organization in the midst of all this confusion.”
