An Important Reminder for All Americans

The election on Tuesday November 5th is now exactly seven weeks away.

And today is a special day because it is National Voter Registration Day in the U.S. It was first established not that long ago.

The first one was in 2012, by the National Association of Secretaries of State

And since then, the Fourth Tuesday of September is National Voter Registration Day.

Those who had the idea to create such day say that if your right to vote means something to you, and hopefully it does, make sure you are registered to vote in the upcoming election if you’re not already registered.

Approaching every election, there are those who will say they don’t plan to vote, either because they say they don’t like either of the candidates or they say their vote won’t mean anything anyway.

Not voting means not exercising the right to vote and not voting means turning your back on what our nation’s founders said was an important part of democracy.

And they also professed that preparing to vote and learning about the candidates and the issues are critical for an informed electorate in a democracy.

In other words, voting in elections makes America what it was meant to be and should always be.
