Fall is right around the corner, the time of year when the weather starts too cool down, days become shorter and leaves begin to transform into vibrant orange, yellow and red hues. Fortunately for people who make a hobby out of viewing the autumnal changes, those vivid blooms can be found all around the country — including in South Carolina.
SmokyMountains.com compiled a list of the best places in each state to view the colorful transformation, the must-visit destinations every nature lover should check out to catch watch the fall foliage fully unfold before the winter. According to the site, the three best places in South Carolina to see fall foliage are Devils Fork State Park, Poinsett State Park and Musgrove Mill State Historic Site.

"Between the 7,565-acre Lake Jocassee and its amazing gorges, Devils Fork State Park serves as a top spot in South Carolina for fall foliage. While on the lake, you can swim along the shores or hit the water in your canoe, motorboat, or other watercraft. Although the lakeside offers tons of recreation opportunities, be sure to break away from it at least once to explore the Oconee Bells Trail. On this path, you can spot the telltale waxy deep green leaves of the ultra-rare Oconee bells, although you'll have to come back in April for its blooms. You'll also get to enjoy all the fall colors displayed by the tulip poplar, dogwood, sourwood, mountain magnolia, maple, scarlet oak, and sassafras trees."
