A woman Beaumont police are calling a “person of interest” is in custody. 34-year old Jada Lynn Smith was arrested yesterday. Detectives want to talk to her about last weekend’s murder of 57-year old Ronald Barnes, whose body was found in his Beaumont home in the 2000 block of Ives. A second person of interest, 36-year Romeo Randolph Johnson, is jailed on unrelated charges.
