Diddy’s Lawyer Reveals Why Mogul’s Been Placed On Suicide Watch

Earlier this week, PEOPLE reported that Diddy is on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after his arrest. Sources told the outlet that he is “in shock” and described his mental condition as unclear. Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, later confirmed this information to TMZ, but clarified that it does not imply Diddy is suicidal. According to Agnifilo, the suicide watch is a common procedure for new, high-profile inmates. He spent six hours with Diddy at the facility and noted that he seemed to be in relatively good spirits. Agnifilo stated he is “not at all suicidal” and is “strong, healthy, confident, and focused on his defense.” This is positive news as Diddy faces serious charges, including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which could lead to a minimum sentence of 15 years and a maximum of life in prison.

Diddy appeared in court for an appeal hearing earlier this week, where he was denied bail for a second time. U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter remarked that the government has proven he is a danger and that the bail package does not sufficiently address the risk of flight. Despite these challenges, Agnifilo remains optimistic, stating, “He’s going to clear his name, and we’re going to stand by his side as he does. We believe in him wholeheartedly.” How do you feel about Diddy's lawyer asserting that he’s “not at all suicidal” despite being on suicide watch? Keep it locked to 103.5 The Beat for more!
