The State Department of Labor says Nebraska’s preliminary unemployment rate for August is 2.7 percent, seasonally adjusted.
The rate is up 0.1 percent from the July rate and up 0.3 percentage points from a rate of 2.4 percent in August of last year.
The department says Nebraska's rate is ranked fifth lowest in the nation.
