FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's golf team will head back to Washington to compete in the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational hosted by Seattle at the 6,945-yard, par 72 Tacoma GC in Tacoma, Wash.

THE FIELD

The 17-team field includes British Columbia, CSU Fullerton, California Baptist, Eastern Washington, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Houston Christian, Idaho, North Dakota, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Saint Martin's, Santa Clara, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, and Weber State.

LAST TIME

The Fresno State women's golf team finished 15th at the Leadership and Golf Invitational, posting a final score of 49-over 913 at Chambers Bay Golf Course.

Amelia Garibaldi led the Bulldogs through the tournament, finishing 34th after carding an 8-over 224.

Vunnisa Vu moved up eight spots on the leaderboard after shooting 4-over in the final round to finish 53rd with a score of 13-over, tied with Katelyn Lehigh. Motoko Shimoji wrapped up the tournament at 15-over and Ashley Tarkanian followed at 30-over.

WHO'S BACK

Fresno State returns three players, including its top performer from the 2023-24 season, junior Katelyn Lehigh.

Lehigh competed in all 10 tournaments and won the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational with a career-low 15-under 201, marking the program's 19th individual tournament win and setting a new 54-hole record. She also posted a career-low round of 7-under 65 at the same event and shot under 70 in five rounds. With four Top 20 finishes, she concluded the season with a scoring average of 73.1.

Amelia Garibaldi competed in all 10 tournaments, posting a 73.3 scoring average and securing three Top 10 finishes. She recorded a season-low 5-under 211 at The Clash at Boulder Creek and finished third at the Causeway Invitational with a 2-over 218. Her lowest round of the season came at the Cowgirl Classic, where she shot a 5-under 67 in the final round.

Vunnisa Vu competed in nine tournaments, achieving her best finish at the Fresno State Invitational, where she placed 11th with a score of 3-over 219. She posted a season-low even-par 216 at The Clash at Boulder Creek and shot a season-low round of 2-under 70 at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, finishing the season with a scoring average of 75.9.

WHO'S NEW

Fresno State bolstered its roster with four newcomers, featuring two junior college transfers and two freshmen.

Motoko Shimoji transferred mid-year from College of the Canyons but was unable to compete for the Bulldogs due to NCAA regulations, though she was able to practice with the team.

Genevieve Akers joins the Bulldogs after spending her freshman season at San Joaquin Delta College.

Berglind Erla Baldursdottir, a native of Mosfellsbær, Iceland, will begin her collegiate career this weekend, along with fellow freshman Ashley Tarkanian, a graduate of Bishop Manogue in Las Vegas, Nev.
