New REDS Manager - Terry Francona

The Cincinnati Reds are set to hire Terry Francona as their new manager, marking a return to the team he briefly played for in 1987. Francona, who will turn 66 in April, took a step back from managing the Cleveland Guardians in 2023 due to health concerns, but is ready to resume his career after a year away from baseball.

Widely regarded for his leadership, Francona is best known for guiding the Boston Red Sox to two World Series victories, including their monumental 2004 win that broke the franchise's 86-year championship drought. With 1,950 career wins over his 23-year managerial journey—which includes managing the Phillies and Guardians—Francona ranks 13th on the all-time list.

The Reds are optimistic that his wealth of experience will steer their young, dynamic roster, led by standout Elly De La Cruz and pitcher Hunter Greene, in the right direction. Francona will replace David Bell, who was let go after six seasons with the team.
