(Omaha, NE) -- One person is under arrest after a fatal hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian this past week. Omaha Police say 89-year-old Walter Tighe was Crossing Center Street near 34th Street Tuesday morning around 7:30 a.m., when he was struck by a vehicle. Tighe was later declared dead at the scene.

The suspect vehicle, which police later identified as a Chevy Silverado pickup, fled. Investigators were able to locate it on Wednesday and had it impounded. A search then ensued for the driver.

Police say 31-year-old Christopher Dunning was located in Lincoln on Saturday and taken into custody by Lincoln Police. Dunning is charged with one felony count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death.
