Iowa Driver Accused Of Going 144 MPH, Car Towed

(Ankeny, IA) -- A driver's been ticketed for going 144 miles an hour on the interstate this weekend.

The Iowa State Patrol says they wrote 30 speeding tickets during a targeted speed enforcement on I-35 in Ankeny, in the Des Moines metro area Saturday. ISP has a plane with troopers in the air who clock speeders on the ground, then troopers on the ground pull the speeders over.

ISP says the 144 mile an hour driver told troopers he just wanted to have some fun. They took him to jail and impounded his car.
