Slash is one of the most iconic rock stars and can absolutely shred on a guitar — but he didn't always want to pursue a career in music!
Speaking to iHeartRadio, the Guns N' Roses lead guitarist said:
"I just never aspired to be a musician. It never even crossed my mind. And then I was racing BMX, and I was about 14, 15 years old. And I met Steve Adler, who was the original drummer for Guns N' Roses. And he had an electric guitar and an amp and a stereo at his grandmother's house. And when they went to work in the morning, we did school and hung out over there, and he would pull out that guitar and just sort bang on it and crank the amp all the way up and put Kiss Alive II on. And then that was, it was sort of like that pre pubescent rock and roll fantasy thing. But suddenly I picked up the guitar, and from that second on I was hooked on it, and I've been that way ever since."
