The Port Authority has announced that the PATH Hoboken Station will be temporarily closed for nearly a month starting January 30, 2025, and will remain closed until the early morning of February 25. The closure is part of the PATH Forward Program, aimed at improving the 116-year-old system. The program will allocate $430 million towards critical safety repairs at stations and track improvements.

During the closure, commuters who rely on the PATH to travel to Manhattan will have to find alternative routes. The Port Authority has assured that several options will be available, including expanded ferry service, shuttle bus service to other PATH stations, NJ Transit bus service, and light rail. The exact details of these alternative services will be provided closer to the closure date.

The temporary shutdown is expected to cause significant disruption for Hoboken commuters. However, the Port Authority believes that the long-term benefits of the upgrades will outweigh the short-term inconvenience.
