REO Speedwagon back on the road until the end of the year

REO Speedwagon has resumed their tour after a month-and-a-half hiatus, during which lead singer Kevin Cronin underwent an unspecified surgery. Cronin shared that his recovery was challenging but successful, thanks to the support of his vocal coach Jeffrey Allen and his wife Lisa. He expressed gratitude for their help, which allowed him to regain his vocal strength and return to performing.

The band’s next show is scheduled for this Wednesday, November 6th in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Cronin also addressed the future of REO Speedwagon, revealing that the band will stop touring at the end of the year due to a legal dispute over the band’s name with bassist Bruce Hall. Despite these challenges, Cronin emphasized that the legacy of the classic REO lineup remains intact and that their music continues to hold significant meaning for their fans.

Looking ahead, Cronin plans to continue performing, with a solo show on January 25th at the WinStar Casino up in Thackerville, Oklahoma, titled “The Songs of REO Speedwagon.” Kevin remains optimistic about his future musical endeavors and is committed to ensuring that the band’s music lives on, even as the members pursue separate paths.
