The first polls have closed, and the race between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris remains deadlocked as polls across the country begin to close. The election is likely to come down to several swing states, including Pennsylvania, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Due to the razor-thin margins between Trump and Harris and the massive number of early votes that were cast across the country, it is unlikely that a winner will declared by the end of the night.

In addition to deciding who will be president, voters will also be deciding which party controls the House and Senate. The Republicans are hoping to wrest control of the Senate from the Democrats while maintaining their slim majority in the House.

According to polling site 538, the Republicans have a more than 92% chance to take control of the Senate but have just a 49% chance of remaining in control of the House.
