The Supreme Judicial Court will hear oral arguments in the Karen Read case today.
Read's attorneys say the jury in her trial earlier this year had decided to acquit her on second-degree murder and leaving the scene of a death.
Multiple jurors have told the defense they were only deadlocked on a low level manslaughter charge in the death of her Boston cop boyfriend John O'Keefe when the trial judge declared a mistrial.
The defense is asking the state's highest court to acquit her on the other two charges, or to order the trial judge to question jurors on the issue.
