(Des Moines, IA) -- The Des Moines housing market is seeing growth this fall.
The Des Moines Area Association of Realtors says the marketing is showing opportunities for both buyers and sellers, including more active listings and rising sales. Home sales rose over 18.6% in October compared to September. Active listings in Des Moines were also up slightly in October to nearly 3,938 homes. The average number of days a home is on the market went up slightly in October to 51 days, compared to 49 September. The average sale price for a home in Des Moines in October was $289,900, a slight decrease of 0.3%.
