It’s a “big day over here,” Blake Shelton said as he posted a video on Instagram on Friday afternoon (November 15), thanking his fans for listening to his latest single. The country hitmaker also gushed over his wife, Gwen Stefani, who debuted her newest record on the same day.
“Big day over here... Texas is out now AND let's talk about the greatness that is the new [Gwen Stefani] album!!!! A true masterpiece from my favorite person!!! ‘Bouquet’ out now!!!!! Go listen to it people!!!!!” Shelton wrote in his caption. He reiterated in the video that “she actually made a masterpiece with Bouquet… It’s Gwen Stefani at her best.”
Stefani’s fifth full-length record includes “Somebody Else’s,” her latest duet with Shelton, “Purple Irises,” and more. Shelton noted that Stefani’s newest album has been in the works for years. Shelton released “Texas,” an anthem that nods to George Strait with a reference to the legendary country artist’s 1980s hit, “All My Ex’s Live in Texas.” Shelton said “the thing that struck me about ‘Texas’ immediately was how different it sounded for me, and I’m always looking to push myself. I think there’s something really special about this record, and it feels important to me.”
