A new survey has found that Americans are using more than traditional sources for getting news.

A report released on Monday from the Pew Research Center revealed that one in five Americans receive their news from social media influencers.

The findings are from a survey of 10,000 U.S. adults.

“These influencers have really reached new levels of attention and prominence this year amid the presidential election,” Pew Research Center social scientist Galen Stocking said in a statement. “We thought it was really important to look at who is behind some of the most popular accounts – the ones that aren’t news organizations, but actual people.”
