Husband And Wife Hit Same Deer Just Seconds Apart - JB

A Kansas couple, Gina and Ronnie Morgan, had an unforgettable experience recently when they both hit the same deer just seconds apart while driving separate cars, in opposite directions. Gina struck the deer first, sending it flying across the road, where it collided with Ronnie’s vehicle. “When she told me she hit a deer, I’m like, ‘There’s no way it wasn’t the same deer,’” Ronnie told KSNW-TV, explaining how his car, equipped with a push bar, took less damage than Gina’s, which sustained $6,000 in repairs.

The Kansas Highway Patrol highlights that deer-vehicle crashes peak from October to December, with November being the most active month. Trooper Tod Hileman explained that while it’s safer to hit the animal than to swerve, drivers should brake and avoid sudden maneuvers above 40 mph. Reflecting on their ordeal, Gina said, “It’s amazing how much damage a hit like that can do, but we’re just grateful to be safe.” The couple’s unusual encounter serves as a reminder to stay vigilant and always wear a seatbelt.
