J Cole Fans Celebrate The Return Of "The Come Up"

Fans of J. Cole are excited on social media after he made his first mixtape, The Come Up, Vol. 1, available on streaming platforms on Monday night, nearly 20 years after it was first released. This announcement followed Cole's introduction of a new audio series called Inevitable, where he reflects on his career. In the first episode, he talks about his 2007 mixtape. One user on X (formerly Twitter) remarked, "So J. Cole is releasing podcast episodes about his old mixtapes while also putting them back on streaming... that's smart." Another fan expressed excitement, saying, "YOU DON’T KNOW HOW LONG I’VE WAITED FOR J. COLE’S MIXTAPES TO GET ADDED TO STREAMING…" Some fans speculated about the possibility of more mixtapes being released along with new episodes, with one writing, "Once J. Cole puts Friday Night Lights on streaming platforms, it will be a holiday." Cole announced his Inevitable audio series on Sunday night in a long social media post. He mentioned that although he was unsure about sharing it, he thought a younger version of himself would appreciate hearing it from his favorite rapper. He reflected on the clarity he gained about the importance of having a dream, the need for a clear vision, and the magic that happens when we stay true to our beliefs, as well as the difficulties that arise when we stray from them. The next episode of Inevitable will drop on Wednesday night. This comes as J. Cole prepares for the release of his much-anticipated seventh studio album, The Fall Off.
