(Iowa) -- A new national study from the American Lung Association ranks Iowa low on the list of best states in the country in several key areas regarding lung cancer.
The 2024 State of Lung Cancer report ranks Iowa 31st in the nation for lung cancer cases being diagnosed early, 34th in the nation for cases being treated surgically, and 23rd in the nation for lung cancer screenings. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths both in Iowa and nationally.
