(Des Moines, IA) -- The annual Downtown Des Moines Winter Farmers' Market is returning this weekend. The market will include new and familiar faces, set up in the Iowa Events Center. Elizabeth Weyers is an organizer with the Greater Des Moines Partnership.
"It has a lot of the same market vendors that we see at the downtown farmers market," Weyers says. "But it also has quite a few new market vendors, and some that are very specific to the Winter Market as well."
It includes over 100 vendors, including some local businesses getting a kickstart through the partnership's business incubator program.
"It kind of helps them have a barrier-free entry into the market and into our events," Weyers says.
Weyers says the variety of vendors means a variety of options for buyers.
"They'll be doing late season produce," Weyers says. "And it's a great time to get early Christmas gifts and to support those local businesses."
The winter market runs today through Sunday at the Iowa Events Center.
