The Harris County Pct. 5 Constable's Office has confirmed that a deputy constable and her child passenger were killed in a multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Houston.
Officials say the fiery crash involved three vehicles and happened just after 3 a.m. in the westbound lanes between Washington Avenue and I-610. The woman, believed to be in her 40s, and the young girl, between 8 and 10 years old, are said to have been in a stationary vehicle on the right shoulder of the freeway when another car hit them.
A bucket truck was also ivolved in the crash. Police say a road worker standing outside the vehicle sustained some burns and was taken to the hospital in stable condition along with a passenger in the striking vehicle.
The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators according to officers.
