Outdoor Eating Sheds Must Be Removed By Friday

The WOR Morning Show sent street reporter Natalie Migliore out to talk with listeners about businesses with outdoor eating sheds having until Friday, November 29th, to take them down or face a $500 fine.

The outdoor dining sheds were introduced during the COVID-19 epidemic and are credited with keeping over 13,000 bars and restaurants open. People complained to Natalie that most eating sheds are decrepit eyesores that harbor rats and homeless people. One New Yorker said the sheds need to be removed so snowplows can clear the streets and precious road space can be reopened. Another listener told Natalie the sheds have served their purpose, and now it's time for them to go.
