Vice President-elect J.D. Vance is reported to be Republicans' preferred candidate for the 2028 presidential election, according to a poll released by Puck News/Echelon Insights last Wednesday (November 20).
Vance received support from 37% of respondents, while all other options were reported to be in the single digits and 18% said they were unsure. Businessman Vivek Ramaswamy was second with 9% support, followed by former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (9%) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (8%).

Vice President Kamala Harris is still the Democrats' preferred candidate for the 2028 presidential election, despite her loss to President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election earlier this month, according to the poll. Harris received support from 41% of respondents, while all other options were reported to be in the single digits and 16% said they were unsure.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom was second with 8% support, followed by Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro at 7%.
