Lithuania has begun an investigation into a deadly DHL cargo plane crash near Vilnius airport. The aircraft's black boxes, which contain crucial flight data and voice recorders, have been found and are set to be examined, according to a government statement. The crash involved a Boeing 737-400, operated by Spanish airline Swiftair on behalf of the German logistics group DHL.

The Lithuanian General Prosecutor's office, leading one of the two official probes into the crash, has found no evidence of terrorism or sabotage so far. Prosecutor Arturas Urbelis stated, "Our initial information does not indicate that we need to be investigating more serious actions," but added that the investigation is ongoing and that "we might find signs of activities of other kinds as we investigate."

The investigation is still in its early stages, and further details about the cause of the crash are expected to emerge as the black boxes are examined.
