This is Dr. Larissa McCourt, a psychiatrist at Kaiser Permanente San Diego with an important message about managing stress and anxiety. Difficult situations can cause worrisome thoughts, trouble sleeping, and difficult to getting through your day -to -day activities. Practicing self-care is critical when feeling stressed and anxious.

1. Get enough rest. Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep and try to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.

2. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine.

3. Move your body. Exercise is a powerful weapon to combat stress and anxiety, and even a 10 -minute walk can have a big impact to alleviate your symptoms.

Lastly, take time to unplug from your devices and connect with the people in your life that matter most. For more information and tips on how to manage stress and anxiety, visit kp.org.
