Garth Brooks shared some of his favorite holiday traditions with his family when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this week.
The country star said he and his wife, fellow music icon Trisha Yearwood, host a “misfit Thanksgiving” for friends in Nashville, Tennessee, whose families live elsewhere and they’re unable to travel home. During the conversation, Brooks also revealed his favorite dish that Yearwood makes every Thanksgiving.
“She does what we call a ‘misfit Thanksgiving,’ Ms. Yearwood does, because we have a lot of people in that town that’s in, for the industry only. Their families are somewhere else, so they’re alone on Thanksgiving. So she opened up her doors (to) about 20 or 25 people this Thanksgiving,” Brooks said. He added, when Jimmy Kimmel asked about Brooks’ favorite item on the Thanksgiving menu: “I don’t even know how to tell you this one. So you have Thanksgiving, (and) you usually go to the couch and you to sleep, and you wake up. You usually have leftovers. What she does is she takes all the leftovers and puts them into one casserole, puts a biscuit top on it and bakes the casserole.”
Brooks went on to share the family’s Christmas traditions (including an emotional moment as he spoke about his three daughters), his Vegas shows, his music and more. Watch the interview here:
