Heads up, Costco shoppers! If you’ve got Kirkland Signature Organic Pasture-Raised 24-Count Eggs in your fridge, it’s time to check the label. These eggs are being recalled in the South due to possible Salmonella contamination. Handsome Brook Farms, the supplier, says eggs meant for other uses accidentally made it to store shelves.
This recall affects Costco locations in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Here’s what to look for: the UPC code 9661910680, Julian code 327, and a “Use By” date of January 5, 2025. The eggs come in plastic cartons labeled with “Kirkland Signature” on top and were stocked in stores starting November 22, 2024.
Salmonella isn’t something to mess with—it can cause fever, stomach issues, nausea, and even more serious problems for young kids, older adults, or anyone with a weakened immune system. So far, no illnesses have been reported, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
If you’ve got these eggs, don’t eat them. Return them to Costco for a refund or dispose of them safely. If you have any questions, you can call Handsome Brook Farms at 646-733-4532, ext. 1, or email them at recall@hbfeggs.com. They’re available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. EST.
Stay safe and pass the word!
