Outgoing President Joe Biden is facing massive backlash for pardoning his son, Hunter Biden, just days before he was set to be sentenced for his gun crime conviction, as well as his tax evasion conviction.
The President issued a pardon for his son that covered any crime he may or may not have committed over the last 11 years. The President had previously maintained that he would respect the rulings of the juries in Hunter's criminal cases, stating as recently as last month that he wouldn't pardon his son.
White House Spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Monday morning that the reason Hunter received this pardon is because he was "unfairly singled out." She claims that Hunter would never have been charged if he weren't Joe Biden's son.
Jean-Pierre also stated that President Biden would not be firing U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland for allegedly singling out Hunter Biden.
The President is now being criticized for his decision to pardon Hunter by conservatives, as well as by iHeart Radio's Charlamagne Tha God, who says the only reason Hunter was singled out is because he broke the law.
