(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Lancers have hired their third head coach of the season. Scott Pietruska is elevated to the position after serving as an assistant since 2021. Colten St. Clair had been at the helm since early October, after the organization had already fired Lennie Childs 4 games into the year. This news comes after former player and head coach David Wilkie resigned from leadership in the organization last month. In a statement, majority owner Mike Picozzi says he will be more hands-on going forward.
"As majority owner, the heat is on me. I take full responsibility for decisions I have made over the past two years that brought us to this point. I am committed to providing more oversight into day-to-day operations and hiring practices that are core to the Lancers' success. It is my commitment to hire the right leaders, strengthen our support staff and foster the best environment for our players to develop. To our loyal fans – your voices are heard, and your loyalty is not taken for granted. It is my responsibility to rebuild a standard of excellence that rewards your devotion to this team."
The Lancers are 6-16-1 to start the year.
