Dating can be difficult, so many would-be lovers are looking for all the help they can get. For her part, Amy Robach is sharing the best piece of advice about men that she has ever received, and it comes straight from the source.
On a recent episode of the I Do, Part 2 podcast, Robach revealed that her partner and co-host T.J. Holmes gave her some helpful information about men that "changed everything."
"You said, 'I don't know why women think that men want you to play hard to get or men want you to play games, like men actually want to know that you like them. Men want to know that you're interested in them,'" she recalled. "T.J. was like, be a straight shooter."
She continued, "That's the kind of person you want to be with, someone who wants to know, who doesn't want to play games, who doesn't want to, like, pretend to need to chase you... An adult, mature relationship [starts] at a place of realness and authenticity, and I think when you show someone who you are, if they don't want to be with you, good, then you know upfront."
Robach also shared some dating advice her mom told her when she was younger about not comparing potential matches in the hopes of finding someone "better."
"When you're actually looking for someone, if you get into this comparison business, which I think the [dating] apps actually encourage and perhaps even make it sort of addictive, but if you are always looking for 'What if I could find something better?' if you're in that mindset, you'll never ever settle down or be OK with what you have, or recognize the beauty or uniqueness of what you have," she said.
Hosted by Robach and Holmes as well as Jennie Garth and Jana Kramer, I Do, Part 2 shares how finding love again after heartbreak is possible. According to the podcast description: "Everyone has baggage, but you're not bringing it on this trip. Second Times The Charm. I Do, Part Two... where finding love is the main objective."
