Fans of JAY-Z who missed the chance to see his “Book of HOV” museum exhibit can now enjoy it in book form. The rap icon collaborated with the luxury publisher Assouline to create a coffee table book titled The Book of HOV: A Tribute To JAY-Z, which was released on Wednesday, December 4, in honor of his 55th birthday. The original exhibit ran at the Brooklyn Public Library from July to December last year and featured thousands of artifacts related to JAY-Z, including original recording tracks, unseen photos, and famous outfits he wore on stage.
The book aims to give readers an inside look at the life of this billionaire artist while celebrating his achievements, roots, and significant cultural influence. It even included a full-size replica of Baseline Studios, the well-known NYC recording spot where JAY-Z produced classic albums like The Blueprint and The Black Album. Assouline describes the 432-page book as a way to celebrate the exhibit and display the many archived items connected to JAY-Z's career in one volume.
Along with nearly 700 images, this collector's book features detailed essays for each of its eight chapters, providing context about JAY-Z’s achievements and his impact on culture.
