Drake Drops $10K to Fund the Prize for Toronto Lookalike Contest

The lookalike contest trend is growing, with a wave of Drake lookalikes coming to Toronto to vie for a $10,000 prize, sponsored by Drake. Anthony Po, who started a Timothée Chalamet lookalike contest with a $50 prize, unintentionally ignited a series of similar events. The competition for Drake’s contest was intense, featuring outfits themed around “For All the Dogs” and other Drake-inspired styles. It was all in good fun, especially when Drake himself acknowledged the event on his Instagram Story, expressing his love for the city. Po noted that Makayla Chambers, known as “Girl Drake,” won the $10,000 and shared her excitement in an interview, saying, “I feel like I made it.”

While Drake seems to take his lookalikes lightly, he is serious about his conflict with Universal Music Group. He is suing the label, claiming they promoted Kendrick Lamar’s diss track, “Not Like Us,” through dishonest methods like bots. Some see Drake as a sore loser, while others believe he aims to fix issues in the music industry related to unfair record sales. Regardless, it's encouraging to see Drake get some positive recognition after what seemed to be a loss in his rap feud with Lamar.
