Ricardo Castillon, the charismatic leader of La Diferenzia, has announced an exciting new project that promises to bring the beloved Tejano band back to its roots. The upcoming album, titled Renacimiento del Phoenix, is set to release in early 2025 and will feature 12 original tracks, each accompanied by a music video.
“We went back to our roots for this album,” Ricardo shared. “Over the last 15 years, I experimented with various sounds, but they never captured the true essence of La Diferenzia. I was navigating through a lot of different emotions during that time, but now La Diferenzia is back and stronger than ever. This is the sound that made La Diferenzia a household name in the ’90s!”
The album is a collaborative effort with Ricardo’s talented production team, including the award-winning duo of Rolando Revilla Jr. and Fabian Hernandez, known for their work on Jay Perez’s Latin Grammy-nominated album “El Patron,” which recently won Album of the Year at the 44th Tejano Music Awards.
“It’s time to do it again,” Ricardo declares, adding that this time it’s “for the love of the music and for my people!” The album’s title, Renacimiento del Phoenix, draws a parallel to the mythological bird that rises from the ashes, symbolizing the band’s resurgence and renewed strength.
Fans can look forward to a new music video each month, starting in January 2025, with the lead single expected to drop on January 10. For the latest updates on this highly-anticipated comeback, visit ladiferenziamusic.com.
