American workers are notorious for not taking all their vacation days.
In fact, a new survey found that just 20% of respondents said they used all their Paid Time Off (PTO) last year, with the average worker with PTO saying they had 5 vacation days left over that they didn’t use or roll over.
But not taking days does not mean we don’t need a break. 80% of those surveyed said they are feeling burned out, with financial struggles (40%), fatigue (37%) and mental health issues (34%) being the biggest factors.
The survey found that the average American worker says they need a real vacation every 110 days (15.8 weeks). That means you will likely need a vacation by April 20th.
