A judge is sentencing a 19-year-old to probation after he hit and killed a tow truck driver in November 2023.
Payton Ferris was sentenced to two years of probation, a suspended license for a year and 500 hours of community service.
He pleaded no contest in November to a moving violation causing death.
The crash happened on November 4, 2023 on eastbound M-6 when Ferris lost control of his vehicle and hit 25-year-old Keagan Spencer, who was in the median helping a stray dog.
