Brett Eldredge joined Kelly Clarkson on her daytime talk show to perform “Sweet December,” the duo’s latest holiday duet, on the show on Tuesday (December 17).
The collaboration is one of 8 tracks that appears on Merry Christmas (Welcome to the Family), the holiday project that Eldredge debuted in September. It’s their latest duet since teaming up on Clarkson’s 15-track studio album, When Christmas Comes Around…, which released in 2021. Eldredge is featured on “Under The Mistletoe” on that album.
“So today I’m getting to sing ‘Sweet December’ with Brett Eldredge,” Clarkson said in a behind-the-scenes video shared by The Kelly Clarkson Show. “This is our second Christmas song together. I love singing with him. He is one of my favorite voices to sing with. He has so much warmth in his voice, and his tone is gorgeous. …I’m very excited.” She gushed as the two singers rehearsed, “we sound so good together!”
“I love Kelly. I love her voice, and we just, we mesh really well together when we sing. It’s just a magical feeling,” Eldredge said. “I feel festive. I’m in the middle of a Christmas tour, ‘GLOW Tour,’ and so I’m full (holiday) mode, and to be able to get to sing with her kind of just re-energizes me to go through the rest of the tour. I’m excited to sing with Kelly again.”
Eldredge kicked off his “GLOW: Welcome To The Family Tour” last month. As of publication time on Tuesday, he’s still set to perform on Wednesday (December 18) in St. Louis, Missori, and on Friday (December 20) in Nashville, Tennessee. Eldredge has released Christmas records throughout his career, including his renditions of “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” and other Christmas classics.
