Nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot on Christmas Eve, so it has now surged to $1.15 billion.
The odds were kind of working against it happening, depending on how you look at it… the last and only time anyone ever won a Mega Millions jackpot on Christmas Eve was over 20 years ago in 2002. The jackpot was $68 million and was never claimed. I’m convinced it was a stocking stuffer gift that either got stuck in the stocking or accidentally thrown away with the wrapping paper.
The next drawing for Mega Millions is Friday at 10pm. It will be Mega Millions’ 7th largest jackpot, its 7th billion dollar prize with a cash value estimated at $516.1 million.
According to Mega Millions, the odds of winning are 1 in over 300 million (302,575,350).
