In case you missed it...
Shaboozey's smash hit "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" is still making history. It's now tied for the most time spent this decade at Number One on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart. It sits at the top spot once again on the chart dated December 28th. That marks its 27th week, tying it with Gabby Barrett's "I Hope." Shaboozey's and Barrett's songs are tied for third overall in the history of the chart. Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line's "Meant to Be" holds the record at 50 weeks while Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road" is second with 34 weeks.
A good country singer can take real life and put it into song. Elle King has done just that. You may recall how her drunken appearance at the Grand Ole Opry for the Dolly Parton birthday bash in January was the beginning of a not-so-great 2024 for the singer, but she's managed to turn that experience into a country song. Elle posted an unreleased song (presumably titled "Banned From The Grand Ole Opry") on Instagram recently. It addresses the debacle in the raw way that only the best country songs do. Check out Elle's self-deprecating "Banned From The Grand Ole Opry" below...
